Fans of the AMC series "Walking Dead" will soon have a companion series called "Fear the Walking Dead" to watch that should help bridge the gap until new episodes arrive in October.
The new series will have a six episode run in its first season and will have a 90-minute premiere on August 23. The series is set in Los Angeles as opposed to the East Coast setting of the original show. It details a different time frame focusing on the initial outbreak. The show deals mostly with one specific family who work at a Los Angeles high school and their kids from previous relationships.
Unlike the original "Walking Dead" this new spin-off is not based on the popular graphic novel, it also differs in setting and characters but is situationally identical - A zombie apocalypse and how humanity deals with that crisis.
The show stars Cliff Curtis as English teacher Travis Manawa and Kim Dickens who plays guidance counselor Madison Clark, the blended family children are played by Frank Dillane, Alycia Debnam-Carey and Lorenzo James Henrie.
