In case you missed it, on Wednesday, August 20th, Ryan Leslie kicked off the New York leg of his Black Mozart Tour, putting on a show at the Bowery Ballroom on Delancey Street in New York City.
The sold out performance was one for the ages. Ryan world premiered his newest music video for his latest single “New New,” a video directed by Leslie that features his Disruptive Multimedia application, the first artist-to-fan platform that connects artists directly to their fans. Ryan used his video premiere to segue his into his Bowery performance. He asked his fans to pull out their cell phones and directly text him and request what songs they wanted him to perform. He treated fans to throwbacks like as “Gibberish” and “Fly Together.” Upping the ante, Ryan jumped from instrument to instrument playing the grand piano and then quickly shifting to the keys. The artistic genius of Ryan rang clear to fans, as they quickly began chanting “Black Mozart.” As the crowd grew hype, he begun singing his popular hit “Addiction,” but that performance was not complete without having Fabolous come out and perform alongside him!
Fab came out and performed “Addiction” with Leslie along with his live band. From there, R. Les and Fab performed their ever-popular hit “Lay Down.” Fab also performed “You Be Killin Em,” his 2010 hit that was produced by Ryan and ended up becoming a staple tagline in 21st century pop culture.
The show didn’t end after the Fabolous performance. It gets better… G-Unit comes out! Lloyd Banks, Tony Yayo, and Young Buck all came on stage and performed “Start It Up,” which also features Ryan Leslie and Fabolous. The show quickly became a flashback of the 2010 and the crowd went even crazier. It was truly a concertgoer’s definition of “bang for their buck.”
Other celebs in attendance included Emily B., Damon Dash, Mike Zombie and Lyndsey Scott. To stay up-to-date with Ryan Leslie and his upcoming tour date follow him on Twitter and Instagram @RyanLeslie.
