Former Auschwitz guard Oskar Groening is on trial for 300,000 counts of accessory to murder for his role in the Holocaust.
During that time, 93-year-oldGroening was titled the "Accountant of Auschwitz" because in his role, he tallied up money and other valuables that were stolen from those who were held in the concentration camp.
"I share morally in the guilt, but whether I am guilty under criminal law, you will have to decide," Groening said, via Mashable.
If Groening is convicted, he will face a max sentence of 15 years in prison. According to Mashable, there are currently 11 open investigations against former Auschwitz guards and eight former guards at Majdanek camp are under investigation too.
Charges have been filed in three of the Auschwitz cases, including Groening's.
