Cleveland Cavaliers superstar point guard Kyrie Irving received a hefty fine for wearing his newest debut kicks in a previous matchup versus the Golden State Warriors.
The "Deceptive Red" colorway of the Kyrie 1 looks great on the court, along with his team's uniform. However, due to the shoe not matching the Cavs colorway, Irving had no choice but to shrug it off, but Nike wasn't happy at all, just to say the least.
"I actually got fined from the league because it wasn't our team colors. I was pretty about it, Nike wasn't happy about it (laughs), but I was happy because that means they stood out completely," Irving said.
"They come from my favorite color red and when I catch fire during a game. Kinda get hot a little bit, so it's a welcome to the inferno and there's nothing you can do about it except watch me heat me up," Irving said.
The Nike "Inferno" Kyrie 2 set to officially drop on the online Nikestore and select Nike Basketball retailers for $125.
