September 17th 2015 (Philadelphia) -Ty Dolla $ign made a special guest appearance at Temple University's Draught Horse to speak on various elements of songwriting and producing. A private crowd was in attendance, wide eyed and fully listening, paying the keenest attention to every detail being said from the hip hop phenom. Though labeled a "workshop", the event included open floor questioning, meet and greets, and prime opportunities to network. While speaking, Ty Dolla $ign dropped a few gems on the audience, from his working with industry greats down to his very own musical inclination.

Speaking on Work with Musical Greats:

"Everytime I work with Kanye, magic happens."

"I'm not trying to sound like anyone else. Whether i'm working with Kanye, Future, YG - whoever... I'm staying focused and in my own lane, to do what I do best. And thats to be original and write the best verse/song possible."

Speaking on his production as a music producer:

I taught myself how to play various instruments (keys, piano, bass) with the exception of the horn. Horns give me a headache."

"When I create, I pull all my ideas from the sky. I just let it all come to me."

One audience member asked: "How do you know when you've created a hit record?" Ty's response was comical:

"When that plaque comes in, that's how I know. *laughs*.

And when asked about the music industry, his response was brutally honest:

"F*ck the industry. It's our time now to take control."

In summary, this event was a cool outing. Great times, vibes and information. It just shows that there are still mainstream artists in existence who want to give back to those seeking the knowledge to propel further.
