Twitter has decided to address the lack of growth issue by getting rid of the 140-character limit and decided to boost it up to 10,000 characters per Tweet.
Now before you panic, just because the limit was increased to 10,000 characters, doesn't mean Twitter users will see massive tweets on their timeline. You will only be able to see the first 140 characters on your timeline.
According to Tech Crunch, 10,000 characters is roughly the length of a news article, which opens up the ability for users to tweet stories, articles or even letters on Twitter for users to read. However, this will now open up compensation questions between users and Twitter.
So, it will be interesting to see how new users adjust and how current users take advantage of this new feature. But, I'm excited to see the creative use of the new character limit!
