We just stumbled upon this graph, that was published via The Verge, from August, but we wanted to repost this troubling info.
This graphs show the racial diversity breakdown at some of the biggest online and social companies (Google, Facebook, Microsoft, Twitter, etc). The lack of diversity within this particular industry isn’t surprising or new.
According to Marysue.com, that zero percent equates to 14 black women working at Twitter.
But the handy graph shows how scant racial diversity is within the field is morbidly thrilling.
When you compare the percentages with black women, to white male the numbers are astounding. Even comparing the numbers to white women shows that black women are not represented in tech like caucasians. Click on the graph to see numbers for yourself.
