When we mention Kanye West, an array of thoughts may come to mind. You have the manic, rambling, rebel. You have the family guy. And then there is the business side who delves into anything that he can get his hands on from the mic, to sneakers, clothing and a possibly furniture. The latter has not yet been confirmed, but the point is that Kanye West is a renaissance man and for valid reason. To honor the renaissance man himself, Baltimore-based brewery Stillwater Artisanalhas created a Yezus-inspired Imperial Porter.
Dubbed 'I Miss the Old Kanye," the beer includes Dr. Pepper's infamous 23 flavors. Featuring a Life of Pablo iterated label, the beer clocks in at about 8% ABV. Founded by Brian Strumker, a former electronica DJ and producer, 'I Miss the Old Kanye" is not the only beer iteration that culls inspiration from Hip Hop. The Stillwater Artisanal brewery has already created a Drake "Hopvine Bling' and a Kendrick Lamar-inspired IPA called 'Moneytree$."
So what exactly can we expect from this craft? Besides the 23 flavors that construct Dr. Pepper, the beer also includes a range of interesting and perplexing ingredients. According to Strumker, "I Miss the Old Kanye" also includes juniper, prunes, plums, star anise, cloves and Brettanomyces, which is fancy word for funky yeast. When asked about the beer, Strumker stated, " I've been afflicted by not one, not two, but all twenty-three flavors. I'm always one-of-kind."
