There is always something throughout the years that captures our attention and we immediately get hooked. This year we are hooked on the Netflix series called 'Stranger Things'. If you haven't watched this series yet, don't worry I am here to get you up to speed. But, I'm pretty sure you have heard of the title because it is literally everywhere, you can not escape from it. However, the series is based of the '80s - themed Sci-Fi horror movies. After being reported to top 'Daredevil', 'House of Cards', and everyone's favorite 'Making A Murder' in ratings on Netflix, Stranger Things is becoming the new cultural phenomenon for valid reason.
The show is set in the 1980's in Indiana about a group of kids, one of which is Will Byers, who goes missing. The kids meet a young girl, Eleven, played by Millie Bobby Brown with powers, such as telekinesis, and they go on a mission to rescue their friend.
A monster from an otherworldly dimension kidnaps and kills people in the small town. A detective, Will Byers’ family, and Natalia Dyer as Nancy Wheeler all investigate the stranger things happening in their town.
STRANGER THINGS IS AS IF E.T. TOOK A LEFT TURN INTO IT, WITH A STOP ALONG THE WAY TO PICK UP A BIT OF THE SMALL-TOWN TERROR OF HALLOWEEN
Channeling the works ofSteven Spielberg, John Carpenter, Stephen King, and George Lucas, among others, the series has made it's mark over the summer on Netflix. The Stranger Things was released on Netflix on July 15, 2016. It now has received positive reviews everywhere for its characterization, pacing, atmosphere, acting, soundtrack, directing, and writing. I don’t usually like stories that are built from scraps of other sci-fi stories, but Stranger Things has that je ne said quoi.
So, why is 'Stranger Things' so Popular On Netflix? It's filled with nostalgia, and we love it.
