Today, Chance the Rapper appeared live on ABC's "Good Morning America" and performed "Summer Friends." Watch him below.
"Summer Friends" is a track off Chance's "Coloring Book" mixtape, which dropped this May. It was the Chicago rapper and singer's third career mixtape and the most anticipated; it came after his breakout "Acid Rap" was released in 2013. Chance's popularity has grown exponentially since "Acid Rap," and his appearance on "Good Morning America" affirms his rise in the mainstream attention.
This isn't Chance the Rapper's first big television performance, though. In October of 2015, Chance took to The Late Show on CBS and debuted "Angels." Two months later, he became the first independent artist to perform on "Saturday Night Live" with renditions of "Sunday Candy" and "Somewhere In Paradise." Most recently, in early July, Chance gave a stirring tribute to the late Muhammad Ali at the 2016 ESPY Award Show on ABC.
So clearly, Chance has some experience with performing on big stages; today's "Good Morning America" appearance only adds to his long list.
