Oakland, California is becoming a playground for new talent that embodies a sound quite contrary to the area's native roots. Artists like Elujay are heavily influenced by a mix between jazzy and futuristic bounce ensembles, which obviously isn't something that was necessarily produced in the west coast. Though the "hyphy" movement has built a solid foundation for artists stemming from The Bay, the time has come for the lines of music to blur.

Soul-infused Hip-Hop artist, Elujay, has emerged and become one of Oakland's most promising emcees. He shares his long-awaited debut album, "Jentrify". The project features over 20 collaborators spread across 13-tracks that act as Elujay's official love letter to his hometown of Oakland, CA. Elu set his organic sound in motion over the summer with successful singles such as "Onetime!", "Flagrant" featuring YMTK, and "We Don't Mind" with fellow rising Bay Area artists CALEBORATE and Samaria.

The rapper's ability to blend a variety of genres all in one, along with poetic wordplay, make for a debut that's futuristic in sound while paying homage to some of Oakland's most classic sounds. He's built his platform to the point where extremely reputable sites such as Noisey Music and The FADER catch wind of his releases and support his movement avidly.
