Bay Area rapper Blanco has released a new EP entitled Molly & Amber through his own independent label, Guerilla Entertainment.
The EP was fully produced by Grammy-winning producer Bosko, who has produced songs for E-40, Kanye West, J. Cole, and Outkast's very own Big Boi.
The EP also features appearances from fellow Bay Area artist, Husalah, Messy Marv, and late Bay Area legend, The Jacka. Blanco explains the title of his album as a double entendre saying,
"I personally have experienced the effects of drugs and the effects of having more than one woman in my life. Each track was supposed to be a reflection of a drug and a type of girl. For example, "Britney" is cocaine and the track is also named that because of Britney Spears' crazy moments."
Molly & Amber, via YouHeardThatNew, creates a hustler's soundtrack over a piano-guided production. Last summer, Blanco dropped a joint track with YG and the producer duo of Cookin' Soul which received love from Complex, HotNewHipHop, and Stereogum and others.
Since his 2011 debut project American Psycho, Blanco has built a deep catalogue of solo project on top of a series of music videos and projects with The Jacka, Nipsey Hussle, Araab Muzik, and Yukmouth. In an interview with HipHopDx, the Bay area rapper stated,
"I care more about the [music] I put out than I care about the sales. I care more about what I’m attempting to do. It’s about the whole journey." as his entrepreneurial ambition as well as well as his trials and tribulations stemming from a $50 millions medical marijuana business were dearly documented.
