Lais is being completely honest in his newest single 'Just Us' which debuted a mere twenty-three hours prior to this article. Preparing for his debut EP launch of '114', (dropping Feb.19th) listeners get a taste of the musical direction Lais is heading down.
Call it an appetizer of sorts, prior to 114's release.
"I wrote this song during times where my girl and I were going through it and I got sick of all the back and forth," Lais tells The FADER. "It's kind of just saying like regardless of all our issues and all the other bullshit involved in our relationship, we always end up with each other anyways, so put the drama aside and come through cause I miss you."
'Just Us' is gloomy, mysterious and filled with crooning-emotion. The Toronto-Pakistan singer puts a sick twist vocally on the beat that stands out entirely. (The song is available for stream below via Soundcloud)
Lais will be celebrating his 114 EP release on Feb. 19th in Toronto at Concorde CityPlace SkyLounge - the event is invite only, more details to come. C
