For the fourth year in a row, The Hieroglyphics are producing one of the largest festivals in their hometown of Oakland, California.
Centered around a full day of musical performances on three stages, the festival also offers food and drinks from local vendors, a skate park, graffiti wall, an area for b-boy battles, a kids' area, and much more. Last year's attendance topped over 22,000 people, warranting a change in access to the event.
The all day event will include performances by Compton’s Most Wanted, P-Lo, Kool John, and Jay Ant of HBK Gang, Luniz, Peanut Butter Wolf, Nx Worries, The Coup, Domo Genesis, Res, and many more.
Hiero Day 2015 will be hosted at the intersection of 3rd and Chestnut Street in Oakland from 11am until 7pm on Monday September 7th, 2015. Due to exceeded capacity and expenses at last year's event, an entry fee of $19.93 will be charged for general admission.
The event is expected to sell out - tickets may be purchased in advance at https://hieroday2015.eventbrite.com.
However, youth who are active in their communities as members of a Bay Area-based nonprofit organization need only to present their membership ID to gain free access.
For anyone who needs financial assistance, they are encouraged to email firstname.lastname@example.org to submit a 250-500 word essay about what they do to improve their community.
