September 2nd can't come fast enough. That's the due date for Isaiah Rashad's debut album, which has been eagerly awaited since the rapper's debut project "Cilvia Demo" in 2014.
Rashad just released a new track, and although it won't be on the album, it does generate even more excitement for new music. Titled "i mean," the song can be streamed on SoundCloud below.
"i mean," which finds Rashad freestyling over a beat produced by Black Metaphor, is a throwaway track that was supposed to appear on a different project. He clarified on Twitter.
On "i mean," Rashad raps and sings over the smooth instrumental from Black Metaphor. Although it is a solid stand-alone, "i mean" is overshadowed by the true promotional track for the album, "Free Lunch." That single was first released earlier in August and just a few days ago Rashad dropped a music video for the song.
Undoubtedly, though, "i mean" only joins "Free Lunch" in ratcheting the anticipation for Rashad's debut album.
