Kanye West caught some back lash for some lyrics in his song pertaining to Taylor Swift. “ I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex/why? I made that b**** famous.”
While performing in Mania, Philippines supporting his album ‘The Life of Pablo’, West defended both his song “Famous,” and his infamous interruption of Taylor Swift at the at 2009 MTV Video Music Awards.
West explained to the audience “Famous” helped end his writer’s block because, “it’s something I want to say so bad that they told me I couldn’t say.” “I’ll let you finish, but Beyoncé has one of the best videos of all time!” This is what West said when he interrupted Swift at the 2009 VMA’s.
West explains how that was the beginning of the end of his life. Some backlash he received was Lady Gaga canceling their joint tour. West defends his statement saying he “just said what everybody else was thinking.”
"But that's the job of the artist, of a true artist: not to be controlled by their finances, not to be controlled by perception, but only to be controlled by their truth," West said.
