Today, acclaimed R&B/soul duo LION BABE have announced their new mixtape, SUN JOINT. The mixtape will be available for download from Tuesday, June 21st at www.teamlionbabe.com. The 11-track mixtape will be their first of all-new material since their debut album, Begin, which was released earlier this year. The band has also shared the mixtape’s first song, 'Endless Summer, which has just premiered on Stereogum.

Just in time for the start of the season, 'Sun Joint'invokes a feel-good, chilled-out vibe with the band’s signature Technicolor palette of sounds, including soul, funk, electronics, and earworm melodies. Songs like opener 'Jazz Drums' and the aforementioned 'Endless Summer' immediately set the mood, and mixtape highlights like 'Tina Turner' and 'Don’t You Worry' expertly match the kinetic energy of their not-to-be-missed live show. The project will feature Jungle Pussy on one track and co-production from DJ Dahi on another. The mixtape also includes two different interpretations of Begin favourite 'Jungle Lady’, with remixes featuring Raury and Angel Haze. The Angel Haze-featuring second remix was also recently featured on the latest Kitty Cash Love The Free, Volume III mixtape.

Coinciding with the release of new music, LION BABE are set to kick off their first-ever North American headlining tour on July 1st atESSENCE Festival. The duo will bring their acclaimed, high-energy live show across the U.S. and Canada with select dates set for July and August. Constantly embracing polarity, mixing and matching sounds and visuals to create something new and unique – LION BABE are the New York duo formed of singer/songwriter and performance artist Jillian Hervey and instrumentalist / producer Lucas Goodmanaka Astro Raw. After the organic creation of the sultry, electronic soul track ‘Treat Me Like Fire’, they decided to give the song a home and create LION BABE. The pair draw on an eclectic mix of influences for their sonic and stunning visuals, which mirror the rich melting pot of cultures that New York offers. Citing the likes of A Tribe Called Quest and Sergeant Pepper-era Beatles as having a major impact on them both in their formative years, they identify with a generation brought up on the internet, with references from film and music of all genres, places and eras being just a click away. They released their debut studio album ‘Begin' earlier this year after a buzzed-about self-titled EP and string of singles, including 'Treat Me Like Fire' and 'Jump Hi' featuring Childish Gambino. The duo has since toured the world extensively, playing some of the largest music festivals in the world, and have collaborated with the likes of Pharrell Williams, Disclosure and more.
