With the drop of "Blank Face LP" nearing by the day, ScHoolboy Q continues to build the anticipation for the album. Last night, the California rapper appeared on CBS' "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" and performed his hit single "tHat Part."
In the performance, ScHoolboy is backed by guitars and drums to complement the song's trap-based beat. The song "tHat Part," which also features an appearance from Kanye West, was released as a single on May 13 and came with a music video released on June 2. The track marks the second single for "Blank Face LP," joining the April 5 release of single "Groovy Tony."
The singles have definitely ratcheted up the excitement for "Blank Face LP." Set to release on July 8, the rapper and his Top Dawg Entertainment label have spent the last few months heavily promoting the album's arrival and the Colbert performance represents another avenue of exposure for ScHoolboy.
Among other promotion techniques, ScHoolboy announced that he is doing quick performances immediately after the album drop to prepare for a longer tour; last night, in New York City, Q held a listening party where he played pieces from the album; and he also created an album trailer titled "By Any Means."
"Blank Face LP" is anticipated by rap fans as it represents the follow-up project Q's acclaimed and platinum 2014 debut album "Oxymoron."
