In case you didn't notice, T.I.'s latest EP, Da Nic', was released through Empire Distribution instead of Columbia Records. That is because the rapper is no longer signed to the label.
He confirmed the move in a recent interview with HitsDoubleDaily and talked about the new game plan for his career.
"Having just exited my deal at Columbia, I was a rogue artist, busting creativity, just waiting to put music in the marketplace, so while I’m sorting out my next situation, I’m blessed enough to be able to control my destiny and put music out as quickly as I want to, and was able to release a Tip album, which I had wanted to do for a long time."
Seems as if his next album, The Dime Trap, will be released independently also. T.I. hasn't announced a released date, but hopefully it will arrive soon.
