Beyonce has an upcoming concert in Tampa and so far no Tampa Police officers have agreed to do security for the event.
According to Tampa Fox 13, officers who are off-duty agree to do security work for concerts and sporting events at the venue to make money, but so far none have signed up to do it for Beyonce's concert on April 29th.
“We’re going to staff it because we have a responsibility to do that regardless of how controversial it might be, who the artist might be, or the politician might be,” Tampa Police Department spokesperson Steve Hegarty explained via Fox 13. “This is a couple of months away, so we’ve still got plenty of time to fill those slots.”
It wasn't clarified however if Tampa Police could force officers to work the concert or if officers on duty will work the event.
The officials say that this isn't the first time officers didn't want to work an event because of controversial or political messages or even because of the celebrity.
Either way, I'm sure there will be security because at the end of the day...it's Beyonce.
