As Air Max Day is approaching on March 26th, Nike has been working hard to make each Air Max release a significant one.
The leading-sports company has revealed one of their major projects exclusively for women, the Air Max “City Collection.” The collection will feature a variety of Air Max editions with specific colors and prints inspired by each city they represent. The City Collection consists of the Air Max 90 Ultra (Shanghai), Air Max 1 Ultra (Paris), Air Classic BW (London), Air Max Thea Ultra (NYC), and the Air Max Zero (Tokyo).
The release starts on March 16th with the Nike Air Max 90 Ultra “Shanghai.” Inspired by ancient Chinese architecture and textiles, this pair of sneakers uses a burgundy and red pattern to represent the lively city of Shanghai.
The Nike Air Max 1 Ultra “Paris” releases on March 17th, it features a teal and gold colorway with a detailed pattern inspired by Art Nouveau and the Parisian Metropolitan arches.
Next, is the Nike Air Max BW Ultra “London” which will be released on March 18th. The beige and black color combination inspired by Victorian patterns accurately depicts London’s vintage design heritage.
The Nike Air Max Thea Ultra “NYC”'s release date is March 19th. This edition uses the classic black and white colorway with an intricate pattern inspired by Art Deco and the iconic Chrysler Building.
And finally, the collection wraps up on Air Max Day, March 26th with the Nike Air Max Zero Ultra “Tokyo.” Inspired by Japanese wave patterns, the blush pink and purple color dedicated to the bright city of Tokyo.
