ABC, who has been seen as more open and diverse, wont play the trailer for Todd Haynes' film Carol, which features a topless scene with two women.

Carol is based off Patricia Highsmith’s novel “The Price of Salt,” and the trailer features a love scene with the women topless, but pressed together so nothing is really seen but their heads and backs.

ABC has refused to play the trailer unless there is a trailer with "more coverage". The film follows two women during the 1950's from two different backgrounds who have a love affair.

Carol features actresses Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara, who both have earned academy nominations for their acting portrayal in the film. This movie is more of a love story versus an extremely sexual movie like 50 Shades Of Grey.

ABC wont play the trailer for Carol, which is relatively PG, except for the one brief scene which lasted for about 5 seconds each, but played the trailer for 50 Shades Of Grey.

There is no word yet if the Carol trailer will be modified yet. But, one would wonder if this is such the case because instead of a heterosexual love movie, this movie represents the LGBT community.
