Bob Marley is coming back to life!
Not in a literal sense. The reggae legend's music and life is being turned into a new musical production called Marley, set to debut next month in Baltimore, Maryland. Billboard reports that the musical is written and directed by award-winning British playwright Kwame Kwei-Armah.
The new musical tells the story of a pivotal moment in Marley's life, the time he went back to Jamaica in the 1970s after spending two years in London following an assassination attempt. The production will include songs from Exodus, Kaya and Rastaman Vibration.
The cast includes Mitchell Brunings, who became an overnight YouTube star after performing Marley's songs on the Dutch version of The Voice, Stevie Wonder as Mykal Kilgor, and more.
The musical will run from May 7 through June 14.
