There is a new app that's designed to completely get rid of any Kardashian and Jenner mentions in news. Well, not actually, but the app does something close!
British viral marketer James Shamsi announced that the app is called #KardBlock, the 21-year-old says that this app filters any mention of Kim, Kanye, Kris, Kendall, Khloe, Kourtney and Kylie from user's news feed.
“Basically, what was happening was that there were Kardashians everywhere, and I wanted to do something about that,” he said. “But for me, when I follow pages, I am not doing it to get a constant stream of updates on the Kardashians. I am interested in deeper issues. But every platform seems interested in Kardashian news to the point that everything else gets crushed.”
So, what the app does is that it replaces Kardashian links with ones to charitable causes of all kind.
“But our ultimate goal is even bigger than just that. We are looking to disrupt the entire digital advertising space. We want to replace all advertising with donation links and important news widgets.”
Accordingto Shamsi, #KardBlock already has over 20,000 subscribers who are eager to erase the Kardashians from their news feed.
“We want to build a customization feature as well, one that will let you get rid of Kardashian news, Bieber news, as well as advertisements,” he said.
I'm sure we the subscriber number will continue to grow, and grow, and grow, and grow...
