Christopher Lee, Actor Who Played Saruman in The Lord of the Rings Passed Away at 93

Actor Christopher Lee, the only actor to play in both Star Wars and Lord of the Rings series of films, has passed at the age of 93. After a military career that saw him serve in World War II, Lee would go on to build a career in Hollywood, building up 230 film credits.

Among his most famous and notable roles were that of villain Count Dooku in Star Wars Episodes I and II and Saruman in the Lord of the Rings trilogy. Lee leaves behind a wife of 50 years, daughter, and niece, in addition to a storied film legacy.
