It's a huge possibility that Coachella will be making its way to the East Coast.
According to NY Daily News, Coachella organizers are planning to bring a festival named "Panorama" to New York City. It would take place two weeks after Govenor's Ball in Flushing Meadows Corona Park in Queens.
This of course did not sit well with Governor's Ball organizers. Tom Russell, who is a partner with Founders Entertainment and helps plan the festival, told the Daily News that “The timing of this corporate-run festival would threaten our ability as a small business to continue putting on the kind of event that has showcased the best artists, created hundreds of local jobs and put millions of dollars back into the city’s economy."
For now, Panorama is just a proposal that raises notable concerns for other festivals and Queens. The borough's President Melinda Katz noted traffic and admission price as a significant issues.
It would be great for Coachella to have a festival in the East Coast since people have a hard time finding their way to Indio, California. Hopefully organizers and NYC can work out the minor details.
