Does Ivy Park Really Pay Factory Workers 63 Cents Per Hour?

A new investigation has hit the British tabloids stating that workers manufacturing Beyoncé's clothing line, "Ivy Park" are only getting paid $6.17 per day. Pause. An insider has spoken, suggesting that the clothing is being produced in inhumane conditions in Sri Lanka. The brand has spoken on the matter stating, “Ivy Park has a rigorous ethical trading program. We are proud of our sustained efforts in terms of factory inspections and audits, and our teams worldwide work very closely with our suppliers and their factories to ensure compliance.” This the same factory that mass produces Speedo and Nike, which workers will never be able to afford under these inhumane guidelines. Although Ivy Park is paying the factory workers twice the minimum wage in Sri Lanka ($2.68), its overall message of empowering women. Ivy Park isn't the only company that operates this way and probably not the last. Beyoncé has yet to speak on the matter. What else is new folks. Stay tuned for updates.
