Former NFL QB Erik Kramer Recovering from Suicide Attempt

Former Chicago Bears quarterback Erik Kramer is recovering from a self-inflicted gunshot wound after an apparent suicide attempt Tuesday night.

Authorities were called to a Calabasas hotel in LA County for a welfare check where they discovered the 50-year-old Kramer with a gunshot wound that was deemed non life-threatening.

Kramer, according to his ex-wife has been suffering from severe depression thought to possibly be caused by traumatic brain injury, the effect of his time in the NFL.

Erik and ex-wife Marshawn lost their 18-year-old son Griffen in 2011 due to a drug overdose a year after they divorced and have another son, now 17-year-old Dillon.
