Upon scrolling through our social media notifications we noticed several new followers on our Twitter. Amongst them was Melissa Tripp, a twenty-nine year old writer/creative from Massachusetts. Her timeline is flooded with short written pieces which tell an entire story in less than a few sentences. From these mini publishings are life-lessons saturated in wisdom from Melissa's personal experiences.
We're all for the creative edge any writer brings forth. Only when its worth the time scrolling through weeks worth of their curated content, a light bulb goes off.
"I'M NOT GOVERNED BY PRIDE. I'M COMFORTABLE BEING VULNERABLE— MY PURE AUTHENTIC HEART EXPOSED".
Her creative accomplishments include the founding of the LIVEDEF Brand (formally a self-enlightenment inspired clothing line, now a mainstay of her personal branding) digital illustrations (done using just her iPhone, no photoshop or illustrator) As well as collabs with Roc Nation alongside authorship, having published her first book - Root. (Which can be purchased on Amazon) There's many more to list, but these are just a few to mention.
Below are a few of our favorite tweets:
Everyone needs to learn new things. That's how we grow as human beings. Melissa Tripp knows that she is a student to this game we call "life" and takes nothing for granted. Using every experience as an opportunity to become better in her living journey.
"I'M NOT AFRAID TO FAIL, BECAUSE I SEE IT AS A NEW OPPORTUNITY TO LEARN FROM THE EXPERIENCE, TO EMBARK ON SOMETHING NEW, AND TO TEACH MY HYPER CREATIVE MIND SOME DISCIPLINE. I JUST WANT TO LIVE AUTHENTICALLY AND CREATE DOPE SHIT."
Did we mention her recent launch of FRANCES SUPPLY? Melissa's clothing line envisioned, curated and designed by yours truly. If you head over to the brand's IG page, you can catch a few looks at her "Generation of Fakes" crewneck, which launched October 25th of 2016. It's really dope.
All in all of the things we learned from Tripp's many talents lead us to this conclusion - just be who you are. Too often our generation gets sucked into the trends and pressures society hands us. Being authentic and original is being true to our unique, individual creation. Once we discover our inner-most gifts and abilities is when we learn and understand our truest potential.
