Rosa Parks - February 4, 1913 – October 24, 2005

She was publically referred to as "The First Lady of Civil Rights" and or "The Mother of the Freedom Movement". Her birthday, February 4, and the day she was arrested, December 1, have both become Rosa Parks Day, commemorated in both California and Ohio.

Upon her death in 2005, she was the first woman and third non-U.S. government official to lie in honor at the Capitol Rotunda.

COMMENT to celebrate, remember and honor Rosa Parks. Today marks the day of the passing of a historical legend of the Civil Rights movement.
