In a new video series produced by YouTube dubbed, MakeMyDay, St. Louis rapper/producer Smino visited Summer High School, the first black high school west of the Mississippi to give the students a trip to City Museum along with backpacks, a dance party and even a freestyle by Smino himself. But most importantly, he gifted the students wisdom and inspiration to live with.

"I gotta do for my city more so than myself," Smino says. Expression can take you far and keep you in a really good head space. People that do what they wanna do in life have a lot of fun. You gotta be from St. Louis to get it, but we got a real hustle mentality - S-T-L right in the middle of the word 'huSTLe'.

Earlier this month Smino shared his latest single "blkswn," the title track from his forthcoming debut full-length project. This Friday he will be headlining at the Old Rock House in St. Louis for the Kribmas: Home for the Holidays showcase.

Check out the video above and be on the lookout for his forthcoming project in 2017.
