Edmund Lee cannot attend Gateway Science Academy because he is an African American. Of course, his mother doesn't approve of the school district's decision, especially knowing that their family will be moving to the St. Louis County in the year.

According to State laws, some county residents have the opportunity to attend a city charter school. However, they must reside in a district that participates in transfer programs.

Drumroll please.... They cannot be African-American. Watch the video above for more details on this shocker.

“When I read the guidelines I was in shock,” said La’Shieka White, Edmund’s mother. “I was crying. I don’t want it to be just about an African-American boy,” said White. “I want it to be about all children.”

Some of Gateway Science Academy's faculty have signed the petition in agreeance of the state law which forbids the gentrification of blacks in predominant white areas.

How messed up is this? Watch the video for more details.
