Nintendo has officially put the rumors to rest about its next console, previously dubbed the "NX." Although the announcement did not specify any detail about the release, reports have revealed a new Mario game that seamlessly blends nostalgia and new wave technology for an enhanced gaming experience. The video does not reveal any new games, but it does hint at Skyrim running. Yea, it actually exists.
But the official announcement promises new features that Nintendo fans will sure be exited about. Slated to have "detachable controller parts, a portable, tablet sized screen, and a plugged-into-the-TV dock," quality is surely king.
Nintendo released a statement stating:
"One player can use a Joy-Con controller in each hand; two players can each take one; or multiple Joy-Con controllers can be employed by numerous people for a variety of gameplay options. They can easily click back into place or be slipped into a Joy-Con grip accessory, mirroring a more traditional controller. Or, if preferred, the gamer can select an optional Nintendo Switch Pro Controller to use instead of the Joy-Con controllers. Furthermore, it is possible for numerous people to bring their Nintendo Switch consoles together to enjoy local multiplayer face-to-face competition."
The new Switch project features several developers including Bandai Namco, Telltale Games, Electronic Arts, Basthesda, Codemasters, Ubisoft and more. The Switch offers fresh hope to the dated gaming system. Nintendo of Europe President Satoru Shibata stated, "With this first look at Nintendo Switch, I hope fans are already imagining the possibilities of having the freedom to play when, where, and how they want to. Our teams at Nintendo, and many other developers, are all working hard to create new and unique experiences, and we look forward to showing you more."
