North Carolina resident Jewel Shuping has always dreamed of being blind, she became obsessed with her at the age of 21.
Shuping claims that she had a psychologist pour drain cleaner in her eyes, losing her eyesight over time and now she is completely blind.
"I really feel this is the way I was supposed to be born, that I should have been blind from birth,"
"It hurt, let me tell you. My eyes were screaming and I had some drain cleaner going down my cheek burning my skin. All I could think was, 'I am going blind, it is going to be okay.'I was so happy, I felt that this was who I was supposed to be."
As a teen, Shuping owned a white cane and by the age of 20 she was fluent in Braille.
According to People, Shuping has Body Integrity Identity Disorder (BIID), it is a rare condition where people believe that they are supposed to be disabled.
