A global insurance company called Chubb recently launched a new cyberbullying insurance for wealthy individuals and clients across the U.K. and the Republic of Ireland.
This is the first of its kind that I know of in terms of insurance.
Chubb will put out as much as $74,600 to help clients recover the damage caused by online trolls and negative nancies. The company will also pay PR firms to help repair any reputational damage and cybe-security professionals to help the client build a solid legal case if they have to go to court.
In addition, the insurance will also pay for lost income or tution fees if the client has to leave school or work for a period of time.
"The intention is to cover any related costs that may occur as a result of cyberbullying," said Tara Parchment, a client manager at Chubb.
