AUGUST 08 (pronounced ‘august oh eight’) makes his debut with “Funeral,” the first single from his forthcoming project, Father, which is set to release via 88rising and Red Bull Records. Making “a stirring entrance” (Pigeons & Planes) with his first release, “Funeral” showcases AUGUST 08’s powerful storytelling and ear for melody. Check it out here.

Last month, AUGUST 08 grabbed attention from renowned music critics when he was featured on “Arizona,” a track on 88rising collective mate Rich Brian’s newest project, Amen. Today, February 7th, in San Francisco, AUGUST 08 will make his live debut with a performance at the sold-out 88rising Double Happiness show.

Who is AUGUST 08? Born and raised in the lesser than Hollywood side of Los Angeles, AUGUST 08 has accomplished a feat that many are unable to attest to: escape the gravitational pull of the street life and successfully make a living out of his passion. He began his music career as a writer and producer for others but has now turned to focus on his own art. August’s debut project, Father, set to release later in 2018, is a vivid and honest portrayal of his life after age 11, when his father walked out on him and his family. “Funeral” is a grand introduction to how, through music, AUGUST 08 becomes in control and finds solitude. Stay tuned for more from AUGUST 08.
