Q-Tip named Art director for Hip Hop Culture

As part of the John F. Kennedy Centennial Celebration, the center is parenting with Hi-Arts to hosts its Hip-Hop Series.

"With Hip Hop constantly changing and evolving, it is easy to forget the history and legacy that precede it,” Q-Tip said.

Q-Tip has been an active producer for his own Beats1 radio show called Abstract Radio. With Q-Tip’s beginnings being from A Tribe Called Quest, hip-hop is nothing new to the artist.

“I want to begin at the beginning of the Culture to help people see its roots, better understand its present, and responsibly create its future." Q- Tip said.

This festival of Hip Hop will explore of all the culture such as the art deejaying, emceeing, graffiti writing, and more. It will also a spoken word summit, dance workshops, and live performances.
