Digressing from his more familiar Rococo sense of styling, Seba Stolarczyk’s SS17 collection unveiled a collection which explores the Parisian more tranquil and placid approach to styling.

Soft tones and soft materials implemented are soothing to the eye and smooth to the touch. Though, some of the pieces trifle with contrasting materials, color schemes, and printing; the pieces are free-flowing, but yet simultaneously well put together for optimal usage. Utilizing different variations of texture, cuts, lining, and panelling, gives the denim items a more avant-garde aesthetic while still being in contradiction with the gentle aura of the line as a collective.

The most interesting part of the collection is that a fair amount of the pieces can be worn by both men and women. The color schemes, the symmetric cuts, all ride the border of gender, and can easily fall for both. Overall, House of Base’s SS17 line is playful and thoroughly embodies the feel of Spring and Summer, while still holding true to the decorative aesthetic of Stolarczyk’s vision.
