Ronnie Fieg, head of the increasingly popular streetwear brand Kith NYC, and Asics have teamed up once again to create not one but two of the hottest pairs of kicks you'll find all summer. Introducing the Gel-Lyte III and Gel-Diablo "Volcano 2.0's".
Set to release on 4/21, the Gel-Lyte III's and Gel-Diablos will release for $250 and $175 respectively. The Gel-Lyte III's are fairly close to the original version of the Gel Lyte V "Volcano", but on a different silhouette. Interestingly enough, the Gel-Diablos have more of a smokey white base with pink, red, and blue tones mixed in tastefully. The highly anticipated release is just the latest of many for Fieg. Recently he's collaborated with brands like Timberland, Nike, Adidas, Off-White, and Puma just to name a few.
The original Gel-Lyte V "Volcano" dropped back in 2013 to popular acclaim. The original retail was $160, the resale market for the originals is somewhere around $400, but I've seen them on sale for as much as $900. The original "Volcano" colorway was among Fieg's best collabs with Asics; their resale value was third best of 2013 for for the company, behind the "Knicks" and "Miami" colorways of the Gel-Lyte 3, both of which Fieg collaborated on.
His latest collab with Asics will mark over ten years worth of stylish, innovative design from one of the most sought after designers in the sneaker game right now. Only available in store (NYC, Miami) and online at kith.com, cop up while they last!
