HYPEFRESH Inc, was (in)formally introduced to International Style Icon, Sarah Jane Adams aka Saramaijewels over red wine and pizza to discuss style, influence, balance and her rule of not following her Instagrammers. If you have ever visited her Instagram, chances are you wont even care if she follows you back because it's just that damn good. With a style and persona that has yet to be imitated with poise and grace, her life is what we millennials should aspire to reflect in our 60's.
Thanks to Natalie Kenney, Style Artitech and founder of CreativePlayers our introduction was a lesson in motivation, being self-sufficient, and appreciating life. Accompanied by an intimate gathering of Philadelphia designers, journalists, visionaries and family members, meeting Sarah Jane Adams was magic. Part of the magic was the premiere of the 'Snap & Chat' private Q & A's at Snap Custom Pizza in Center City Philadelphia.
'Snap N Chats' are an opportunity to introduce rising influencers to established originators who are changing the game in style, business, entertainment, restaurants and culture. Aside from food, the goals of 'Snap N Chat' is quite simple: to meet an originator. In whatever industry we decide to highlight, in thus installment it was style.
Hailing from Australia, Buzzfeed recently listed Sarah as “one of the top style Instagrammers over 60” and Adidas recently partnered with Sarah for a campaign for a Swedish department store in Ahlens as one of their brand ambassadors. But that's just the surface. Aside from the endorsements and loyal Instagram followers, Sarah's life is a lesson in killing your inhibitions and appreciating the gift of life. "There's always more. Life is not a popularity contest. Just do it," she told us.
Sara Jane Adams redefines what it means to be 60. Her mantra: “be yourself speak for yourself" has gained her over 50K Instagram followers. A huge segment of which are millennials who identify with her individuality, style and non -conformist attitude.Every year during her international tour, she stops in Philadelphia where she has a sizable fan base.
Here is what we learned from our exclusive sit down with Sarah Jane Adams:
Coffee plays a vital role in what keeps her going. Okay, not just coffee. But in order to travel from Australia to London and Philadelphia, caffeine is on the top of the list. The rest of the motivation stems from her appreciation for life. Her single biggest influence is Isadora Duncan, a 19th century dancer who died tragically in a motorcycle accident. A bit sinister or left field if you ask me, but that is the beauty of Sarah. She is an individual at her core.
When asked about her legacy, her response was simple, "she never gave up. She was courageous". And might I add, Sarah Jane Adams is a badass and everyone can learn something from her. We did.
